A.R.T. is used with direct pressure on affected muscle groups while the client actively moves. This can be by opening or closing of the joint to help identify restricted muscle tissue. This technique of direct pressure with active movement helps increase movement, releasing tension of joints, tendons, ligaments and nerves. This opens the border between fascia, a sensory receptor, and muscle motor nerves. Allowing you to increase activity with longer periods of time with less fatigue. Releasing tension of restricted muscle tissue allows for better blood flow and limits the onset of muscle knots.
